Qualifications and experience:
You must hold a school-leaving certificate ('A' level or equivalent).
You must also have one or more of the following:
- professional experience in a post involving reception duties and as a security guard;
- a recognised first-aid certificate;
- an SIA licence.
You possess good interpersonal skills. You are also sufficiently reliable, meticulous, polite and tactful to ensure that the various site regulations are respected.
Language skills:
As an international research centre, we are particularly keen to ensure that we also attract applicants from outside France. You must have a sound knowledge of English and be willing to learn French (a language course will be paid for by the ILL). Knowledge of German would be an advantage.

You must be able to work shifts and to perform emergency safety and security operations.

The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), situated in Grenoble, France, and founded by France, Germany and the United Kingdom, is Europe's leading research facility for fundamental research using neutrons. The ILL operates the brightest neutron source in the world.

Duties:
You will join the team of staff in the Site Security Group who perform the following duties 24/7 in 12-hour shifts:
- the reception of visitors entering the site, including taking charge of the necessary site access formalities,
- security coverage of the various zones on the site in order to ensure 24/7 surveillance of persons and property,
- initial emergency response action in the event of an accident, fire, flood, intrusion, etc.
