Job Description
The Theater Director (TD) manages and leads 120+ staff and 8,400+ U.S. and local national linguists to provide linguist support services to OEF-A forces under a contract through the U.S. Army’s INSCOM. The TD executes, directs, and guides the OEF-A Program and ensures compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and regulations. The TD works closely with the Sr. Program Manager/Deputy Program Manager, OEF-A to predict, resolve, or elevate issues that will affect the Program. The Theater Director upholds the highest in ethical and professional conduct and demands the same from all program employees. The TD is a leader as well as a manager, so will encourage, mentor, and develop those under his or her charge while ensuring that we have the right people in the right positions to support the health of the program and MEP.• Serve as the senior MEP manager in-theater and serve as the senior representative for all business and contract related activities for Afghanistan.
• Accountable for all aspects of the Task Order exertion and manages the hand-on day to day execution of OCONUS TO related operational activities
• Responsible for TO PMO operations and resourcing of all Task Order requirements including linguist staffing, GFE accountability, and Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) tasking responses.
• Responsible for meeting all technical, financial and contractual requirements of the TO
• Ensures that management processes and business systems facilitate meeting performance requirements
• Primary point of contact
• Is authorized to act on all matter relating to the daily operation of the TO.
• Ensure unity of effort, economy of scale, continuity of operations, resource conservation, and effective staff action.
• Maintain customer satisfaction through efficient and effective communication, responsiveness, and quality management of the assignments process.
• Maintain 100% accountability of all program employees under your charge in SCOPE. Promote SCOPE as the primary management tool to track, assign, and account for personnel.
• Oversee Local National Linguist Program; hiring, testing, pay, accountability, and retention.
• Supervise and develop assigned personnel thru appropriate application of counseling, mentorship, and evaluation.
• Establish relationships across the MEP staff to resolve issues and concerns. Provide operational details to the MEP staff so they can best support the program.
• Adhere to and promote all MEP and program policies and procedures.
• Provide for the overall morale, welfare, and safety of assigned personnel.
• Maintain and document an active Quality Assurance and Control program focused on implementing our processes and procedures IAW applicable contract SOWs and regulations
Minimum Qualifications
• 20+ years prior military / civilian experience that included responsibility for managing large numbers of personnel and large
programs (linguist programs preferred).
• 10 Years Supervisory Experience in Linguist Operations CONUS/OCONUS
• U.S. citizen with valid passport.
• Top Secret / SCI Clearance
• Understanding of military customs, courtesies, and procedures
• Current TS/SCI clearance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and Sr. Military Officials
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent decision making ability and sound judgment
• Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to live and work in a deployed environment• Masters Degree in Related Field of Business and/or 12 years equivalent experience in Linguists Operations & Management to scale
