Essential Duties:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities listed in a satisfactory manner:
• Establish maintenance support plan for students, direct operations, and provide instruction in concert with overall maintenance support plan.
• Determine work schedules, sequences, and assignments for students/mechanics based on work priority, quantity of equipment, availability of manpower/facilities and curriculum.
• Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, and equipment use.
• Coordinate for appropriate tools, parts and service kits required for each work order. Support accountability and security procedures for managing repair parts.
• Supervise and monitor students’ use of tools and equipment.
• Compile operational and training records, such as time and production records, repair and maintenance statistics, test results, attendance and training activity details.
• Conduct analysis, briefings and presentations on system troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of US systems and subsystems to component level.
• Instruct students on maintenance policies and procedures used in proper performance.
• Monitor and evaluate student work levels, progress, provide feedback and make suggestions for improvement.
• Administer oral, written or performance tests to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness.
• When required, conduct on-the-job training classes or training sessions to teach and demonstrate principles, techniques, procedures, or methods of designated subjects.
• Provide individualized instruction and tutorial or remedial instruction.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Experience in maintaining RCV and/or MRAP systems with minimum eight years experience as a Heavy Equipment of Motor Vehicle Mechanic.
• In-depth knowledge of AR750-1 Army Material Maintenance; DA PAM 750-8, The Army Maintenance Management System; applicable Technical Manuals; and FEDLOG.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
• Monitor/Assess performance of self, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective actions.
• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
• The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
• Ability to monitor and assess performance of self and other individuals in order to make improvements or take corrective action.
• Proficient in time management: self and the time of others.
