Job Description:
This position is for a training instructor and course material developer for a U.S. Army Customer. The successful candidate will assist in performing the duties of an instructor and training course material developer for a ground-based radar system associated with a U.S. Army program. Position will require assisting in the development of operator and maintenance training curriculum (instructor guides, student guides, visual aids, test packages, etc.), and conduct of training courses including hands-on lab time.
Training courses will provide U.S. Army students with the knowledge necessary to perform complex maintenance and operator tasks. Selected candidate will assist with course conducts at various CONUS locations. Course conducts can be up to two weeks in length.. Selected candidate will coordinate with other instructors and with engineering in the design of the training courses and development of training materials. Work will be reviewed by the Training Lead. The position requires frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. While developing training material, the selected candidate will be required to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity while referring to policies and practices for guidance.Required Skills:
4 years of related training experience.
Teaching experience in developing and conducting training courses.
Demonstrated advanced maintenance and operator training background in both classroom and hands-on training environments.
Familiarity with tools required to perform maintenance tasks.
Familiar with Instructional System Design.
Excellent communications, organizational, and customer interface skills.
Ability to assist in interpreting engineering drawings.
Must be willing and able to travel.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret level clearance.
Desired Skills:
Familiar with US military training courses for one of the branches of the armed services.
Certified instructor for one of the branches of the armed services. Working background in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
Experience working with radar equipment.
Experience working as a maintenance technician.
Previous experience developing training material and teaching courses for a U.S. military customer is desirable.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or other related degree (with training experience). Experience can substitute for education, i.e., 12 years of related experience with no degree or Associate’s degree plus 8 years of related experience.
