Job Summary
The SYP Mentor Training Team consists of seven contractors SYP Mentor Training members, HQ Operations Officer and SYP Mentor Planner and is responsible for five interrelated program areas: ANSF Leader Development Mentoring, ANSF Partnering Mentoring, ANSF Logistical System Mentoring, ANSF Training System Mentoring, and ANSF Personnel System Mentoring.
Principle Accountabilities
Maintain a thorough understanding of the Commanders Unit Assessment Tool and develop, brief, update plans according to mission requirements from the ANP perspective.
Coordinate with Battle Space owners, NTM-A MOIs, and IJC DCoS P&P to maintain situational awareness of ANP Pillar requirements for growth and sustainment.
Coordinate with Regional Commands to maintain situational awareness of requirements for Coalition Forces units partnering with ANSF forces units and their training.
Execute all other ANP Mentoring Plan requirements as directed by the IJC-DCoS P&P or IJC-SYP.
Maintain and provide current assessment, mentoring and training support documents for dissemination to Corps teams.
Act as primary SME for 6 ANP Pillars (ANCOP, AUP, ABP, AACP, Enablers and AAPF) for the IJC.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Must meet all physical, medical and other requirements for overseas deployment in accordance with current DoD regulations.
Must possess a fitness level appropriate to performing work in a field environment and current medical exam completed within the past 12 months.
Must have been tested and present proof of a negative HIV test result performed within six months of deployment.
Dental and medical readiness up to date and maintain a current US Passport.
Have a secret clearance.
Experience & Education
Bachelors or Education Equivalent required
Superior writing, computing and communications skills required.
Experience in program or project management; office automation programs, such as MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word;
Former military experience either serving, or working with the military required
Experience in program or project management;
Training and experience in office automation programs, such as MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel, etc;
Experience in professional development and adult education
Experience Preferred:
Experience in working with Middle Eastern or Asian cultures is desired.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Located in Afghanistan.
Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh, and work can be performed under hostile and life-threatening conditions.

Qualifications
Candidates must complete a 14 day Personnel Assessment Selection Training (PAST) course as part of the final hiring process for this position. A daily rate is paid to each candidate for each PAST day attended, but candidates are not entitled to benefits. Lodging and meals are covered. Areas of PAST include but are not limited to:

The Endurance Run covers a distance of 1/4 mile. The candidate is required to wear body armor (level 3 or 4 flak jacket weighing on average 27 lbs), a holster with training pistol, and a slinged training rifle (approximate weight 8 lbs). The one-quarter mile run includes one set of stairs both up and down, and must be completed within 2 minutes 30 seconds (2 1/2) minutes or less.
The Physical Agility Obstacle Course must be run within 2 minutes and the candidate is required to wear the same equipment as the endurance run. The Physical Agility Obstacle Course consists of: candidate is required to wear body armor (level 3 or 4 flak jacket weighing on average 27 lbs) with a holster with training pistol, and a slinged training rifle (approximate weight 8 lbs).
Jumping 2 ft
Climbing over a 4 ft wall
Climbing and descending a 6 ft staircase while carrying two (2) 30 lbs ammo cans
Crawling through a tunnel of approximately 15 ft
75 yard sprint
Climbing a 20 foot ladder
Dragging, pulling, or carrying a 185 lbs dummy for 20 ft
Dry firing the trigger on a 9mm handgun four (4) times
There is no required course sequence other than the requirement that the dummy drag and 9mm trigger pull shall be the last two activities of this event. and must be completed within 2 minutes or less
The Endurance Run and Physical Agility Obstacle Course standards are subject to change without notice.
Upon successful completion of PAST, candidates attend a Deployment Center for approximately 5 – 7 days of additional processing.
