Responsibilities
Lead the Explosive Detection Canine (K9) program, providing specialized and expert knowledge, training and leadership to hourly Cast Members assigned as Explosive Detection Canine Handlers. Directly manage all administrative and operational functions associated with the K9 program. Ensure the K9 program complies with all applicable regulations and certifications associated with explosives detection and support the strategy and objectives of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, the Disneyland Resort and Security & Emergency Services.
Basic Qualifications Demonstrated ability as a team leader Demonstrated partnering, coaching and mentoring skills Demonstrated strong written and communication skills Demonstrated proficiency within a Windows environment Current certification as an Explosive Detection Dog handler through NAPWDA or similar professional association 5+ years demonstrated work history as a certified Explosive Detection Dog handler for a law enforcement, government or military organization Must be able to obtain a California State BSIS Proprietary Private Security Office License Valid California Drivers License Ability to meet outlined physical demands and environmental/working conditions of the position
Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated strong networking skills Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidays Demonstrated budget and schedule management skills
Preferred Education 4 Year College degree or equivalent (emphasis in Industrial Security, Law Enforcement or equivalent military experience)
Required Education Associate’s degree or equivalent
