Location Afghan - Generic Afghanistan
Primary Functions Participate in an Environmental Response and Cleanup Team (ERCT) of approximately six Environmental Response Technicians in support of the Operation and Closure of US Military Bases in Afghanistan. Teams will deal with Hazardous Material/Hazardous Wastes, remediation (e.g. land-farming), oversight of local subcontractors, preparation of reports, planning and implementing of recommendations for environmental stewardship while actively supporting and upholding the Company’s stated vision, mission and values.

Essential Functions and Duties
•Work will be varied and at the discretion of USFOR-A Joint Engineering Directorate.
•Generally, teams will be used to support environmental stewardship and remediation of hazardous materials associated with U.S. Military bases in Afghanistan.
•Cleanup projects may include, but are not limited to, removal and disposal of regulated Hazardous Material and regulated Hazardous Waste as well as unregulated waste and materials of concern; closure of wastewater ponds/lagoons; closure of septic and holding tank areas, burn pits and firing ranges; waste neutralization/ solidification processes; removal and/or land farming of POL contaminated soil, and the proper identification and removal/disposal of asbestos containing materials.•Typical environmental corrective action methods to be employed include but are not limited to: neutralization of acids and bases and land farming of petroleum, oils, lubricant (POL) contaminated soil.

Job Requirements
•Shall have a minimum of 3 years experience in emergency spill response
•Required qualifications include:
•OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER
•Fork Lift training
•Licensed Backhoe Operator
•Bobcat Operator
•OSHA 4-hour Basic Safety Training or 4-hour General Hazard Awareness.
•OSHA Asbestos certifications for performing Asbestos remediation (including encapsulation/closure, remediation, or area extraction) are desired, but not required
•Must be able to perform HAZMAT spill response and clean-up tasks while in fully encapsulated (“Level A” suits) PPE with SCBA
•No impediments to traveling overseas to and within countries that are considered dangerous or unhealthy
•Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation
•Must pass detailed medical evaluation and physical fitness test•Must have valid, current drivers license and passport
•Required qualifications include:
