Job Description:
The Global Security Manager, Global Security, will be based in our Houston office and provide strategic leadership support and direction for Hess’ security function in our Houston-based E&P business. This will include both corporate offices and assigned regional assets in the U.S., Gulf of Mexico, as well as North and South Americas.. This position will report to the Director, Global Security for Hess Corporation, with international Headquarters in New York City. .
Qualified candidates must have approximately five years experience managing security projects for a global energy company. Additionally, candidates must be capable of managing processes and systems specific to the company’s business and culture.
Responsibilities:
Develops, implements, and manages regional strategic planning and coordination of thesecurity function aligned with the organization’s overall objectives.
Plans and directs operations in an international geographical region security function under senior management direction.
Develops, implements, and manages the strategic and tactical planning for the region’s international security services.
Provides regional security leadership to various sites and establishes/maintains each region’s security plan.
Develops, plans, and advises the activities of on-site security managers and ensures theiractions comply with legal and regulatory requirements, while still meeting corporate and customer needs.
Develops and implements policies, procedures, standards, training and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, product tampering, espionage, sabotage, or loss.
Develops and manages business critical projects and programs with significant financial and or legal impact on a regional level.
Plans, develops and implements procedures to obtain, maintain, secure, analyze, account for, and provide information from assessment reports.
Manages complex security improvement programs across business units, service organizations, and regional areas.
Manages complex, sensitive security-related investigations across business units, service organizations, and regional areas.
Builds relationships with business unit leaders to ensure two way communication of security related information and incidents. Consults with management to provide guidance and advice in order to meet the security needs of the business.
Develops and maintains a network of close external relationships with high-level law enforcement, intelligence, public and private sector counterparts to include in-country security and international security agencies.
Briefs senior and executive management on the status of security issues.
Position requires approximately 30% of time spent on domestic and international travel.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
A minimum 10 years experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, military or private sector security organization.
Must have demonstrated experience in the oil and gas or related industries and exposure to the international security arena.
Strong communication skills
Exceptional networking and relationship building skills
Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 30% of the time
