Position Description:
In anticipation of a contract award, Red Five is seeking highly motivated individuals to staff multiple Unarmed Security Officer positions at a diplomatic residence. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of security guard experience.
Each Guard shall be responsible for performing Unarmed Security Officer functions at the client site in support of a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, government officials and government and private assets. The duties shall be conducted in accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Criminal Justice Services’ (DCJS) regulations for this position.

There are no security clearance requirements for this position.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
$16.00 - $22.50 / hour – commensurate with experience. Employee will be
eligible to participate in the benefits plans offered by the Company to its
employees, under the terms and conditions of those plans. Those benefits shall
include medical and dental insurance as well as a 401K plan. Employee will be
provided with additional information about those benefits upon application.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.
• 1+ year related experience working in a Security environment.
• Valid US Drivers License and passport will be required.
• Experience with building security and safety systems.
• Must pass Red Five employment background check.
• Ability to apply sound judgment and use discretion when dealing with
sensitive information.
• DCJS certifications for Unarmed Security Guard
• Must possess or be willing to acquire an Emergency Medical Technician
(EMT) certification to operate in Virginia within the first 6 months of hire.
• Must meet minimum physical standards, which include the ability to
perform normal or emergency duties requiring physical exertion such as
standing/walking/driving/jumping for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders.
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds of material or equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, coupled with proper
bearing and demeanor for the client site.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communications (both written and
oral) skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Unarmed Security Officers shall perform many of the following responsibilities:
• Provides access control for vehicle and pedestrian access to the client site
and enforces visitor regulations;
• Inspects and controls access of materials into facilities;
• Makes security checks of assigned structures, areas, and property
grounds;
• Patrols the property as scheduled/required;
• Maintains activity logs and writes activity reports as required;
• Documents and/or investigates security incidents;
• Must follow all security rules and regulations;
• On duty liaison to local law enforcement, emergency medical and fire
officials as needed;
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or appropriate.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• DCJS Armed Security Guard certification
• DCJS PPS or Private Investigator Certification
• Former military, firefighter, or law enforcement experience.
• Experience as an EMT or Paramedic.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
• Knowledge of email, Internet, and facsimile/telephonic systems.
• Familiarization with the Apple / Mac Operating System is a plus.
• Excellent organization skills.
