Job Description
The Region covered by this role is Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle.
Commences 1st April for 5 Months.
Transport plays a crucial role in the success of the Games. Secure Travel of the Athletes, Media, VIPs, Spectators and Public is of paramount importance.
The challenge for the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) is whilst providing safe and secure transport facilities such as Park and Ride, Park and Walk, Transport Zones/Hubs - there is an obvious need to work in partnership with key players, such as:
London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games
Paralympic Games (LOCOG),
Department for Transport (DfT),
British Transport Police (BTP),
Metropolitan Police Service,
Regional Police Forces,
City Councils
Highways Agency.
Such close working practices will ensure an integrated approach to security, maintain high security standards at the same time minimising the impact on wider operations.
Job Purpose:
Implement a Security inspection and audit process of ODA properties;
Park and Ride Sites,
Park and Walk Sites,
Transport Load Zones and Transport Hubs
When appropriate, identify deficiencies and implement improvements.
Work with the ODA, LOCOG and a wide range of stakeholders to ensure that all security measures for ODA properties have been implemented and that all relevant security processes and procedures are taken account of and followed in every day working practices.
Ensure a layered inclusive approach to security allowing managers and frontline staff to understand their roles and specific security responsibilities.
The successful applicant will be responsible for co-ordinating the efforts of different parties on behalf of the
ODA and working closely with LOCOG to deliver security cover and interface plan for each ODA property ensuring sound comprehensive security management in place for each ODA property.
Qualifications
Security and Transport Logistics Experience
Ability to Liaise with primary stakeholders such as the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), Department for Transport (DfT), British Transport Police (BTP), Metropolitan
Police Service, Regional Police Forces, City Councils and Highways Agency
