Hill International seeks to recruit:

Vacancy : Security Coordinator; with an input of 51 months starting April 2012
Base of the operation: Herat - Afghanistan.
The project:
Project Management and Supervision Consultancy Ring Road: Qaisar- Laman Road in AFGHANISTAN
Project Financed by the : ASIAN DEVELOPMENT BANK (ADB)
The Project aims to upgrade a 233 kilometer section of the Ring Road between Andkhoy and Herat.
The civil works include :
• Reconstructing 70 km and rehabilitating 20 km of road section from Gormach (Km 323) to Baia Murghab (km 253) ,and
• Reconstructing 143 km of road section from Baia Murgab to Leman.
• The work will be carried out under a single design – and- build civil works contract by a Contractor selected through international competitive bidding (ICB). The Project also includes a community outreach program to be designed and implemented by the civil works Contractor.
Requirements for the Security Coordinator :
Work Visa age limit for Afghanistan is 60 years.
Qualifications & Skills
• Degree level qualification or equivalent in Public Administration or related courses in Humanities, postgraduate degree will be considered an advantage
• A minimum of 12 years post graduate experience in handling security issues and liaison activities with government organizations or international institutions
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the functions of multilateral donor organizations and their field operations
• Good knowledge of the UN Security Management System
• International experience will be considered an advantage
• Experience in report writing
• Excellent English language skills
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications
• Previous experience with a Construction Management Consultancy will be considered an advantage
• Handle security issues and liaison activities with government organizations and/or international institutions
• Establish security policies and procedures relating to police/military and/or investigation agencies
• Conduct operations in complex political/security environments
The general terms of employment as follows:
• Basic salary in US$ per month through an offshore contract
• Mobilization - Demobilization economy class airfare tickets to Place of origin (Hill will reimburse for up to US$ 500 (upon receipts) for personal items mobilization- demobilization)
• 30 calendar days paid leave per year
• 2 air fares to home destination per year
• Accommodation on the Project Site in a camp facility operated and secured by the Project Contractor for use by the Company personnel
• Shared local transportation as arranged by the Project Contractor for use by the Company personnel
• Medical Insurance. Hill is offering Allianz medical insurance to all full-time employees at no cost
• Hill will arrange any necessary in-country documentation (eg residence visas/health checks/expert permits).
• Hill's Business Travel Accident Three (3) times annual salary up to $500,000. Aggregate of $3,500,000. War risk exclusion; however acts of terrorism are covered. Also, currently looking into increasing aggregate limit
• Life Insurance: One (1) times annual salary up to $400,000
• In the event that candidate choose to terminate employment with the Company he is required to give a notice period of ninety (90) days
