Security Advisor , Afghanistan

The security coordinator is responsible for the drafting of new security plans and standard operating procedures according to PU-AMI templates and standards and for the training of the country team on those newly developped procedures.

Responsibilities and scope
Security Procedures: revise, agree on and draft the security procedures for the mission and all 3 bases (Kabul, Kunar and Daykundi)
Staff Training: adapted training for different group of staff (coordination team, drivers, guards, etc.) on the revised security procedures

5. TRAINING OF THE COUNTRY TEAM ON THE REVISED SECURITY PLANS AND GUIDELINES
Develop adapted training for:
Country Coordination Team
Program Team (field and support)
Finance team
Logistics team
Drivers
Guards

PRIORITIZATION OF 3 ACTIVITIES RELATIVE TO THE CONTEXT OF THE MISSION
Revise Country Security Management Plan
Revise Base Safety Plans and standard operating procedures
Staff Training

TEAM SUPERVISION
Number of persons to be supervised and status (international / national staff)
Direct supervision: none
Indirect supervision: none

SKILLS
Bachelor to Master Degree in a relevant field (Humanitarian Assistance / International Cooperation / Logistics…)
Minimum 3 years experience in humanitarian / international / technical
Security expert with at least 3 years experience of international NGO security structures, philosophy and systems, and associated qualifications
Excellent written and oral English and the ability to write clear and succinct security documents.
Good training skills and experience of implementing security procedures and of working with staff in an empowering and learner focussed way.
Desired : Specific security training and Specific Technical expertise (communication, energy, electricity, computer)

CONDITIONS

Status: Employed - Fixed Term Contract
Term 4 months
Starting Date: immediately
Position based in Kabul

Salary : gross monthly salary 1800 € + increment for work experience + living expenses (food & housing) + medical insurance + return ticket to country of residence every 12 months + visa + mandatory vaccines)
