Safety and Security Manager

Chemonics International seeks a Washington D.C.-based security manager to manage a robust security and emergency response platform for its headquarters. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. 

Responsibilities include:
Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments
Draft, review, and recommend changes to the emergency action plan
Coordinate local emergency response
Identify, manage, and train floor wardens
Develop extensive safety and security training programs for staff
Serve on crisis management teams that respond to local and international incidents
Serve as assistant facilities security officer
Assist with special projects as directed

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in relevant technical competency area preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a relevant technical competency area
Minimum five years of technically relevant security work experience
Ability to solve technical, managerial, and operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge
Willingness to work overseas four to eight weeks per year
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills, work prioritization skills, and attention to detail
Demonstrated independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others
Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
Current U.S. government secret clearance
Fluent English required; fluency in a foreign language preferred
U.S. work authorization required
