Firearms Instructor

Oak Grove Technologies is currently accepting resumes to support a proposal. The contract is support for AETC’s (Air Education and Training Command) education and training mission by furnishing instructors, curriculum developers, and other support for the Air Advisor Academy (AAA). The position will be located in the area of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. Positions may require participation on Mobile Training Teams (MTT) CONUS and OCONUS. Oak Grove is specifically seeking aFirearms Instructor to support this effort. This position will be available for hire upon contract award to Oak Grove Technologies. Responsibilities:
Complete a formal Academic Instructor Course (AIC) or equivalent, within three months of teaching their first academic class. AETCI 36-2220 describes AIC course equivalents. If a contractor has previously completed an AIC type course, submit the AIC equivalency to CO for approval. Participate in periodic instructor development seminars.
Serve as the focal point and SME in their respective discipline.
Provide technical support, planning, consultation, analysis and expert advice to establish, maintain, and improve their respective area’s instruction.
Assist the Curriculum/Courseware Developer in updating, revising, and developing their respective area’s courseware.
Prepare classroom for instruction and ensure academic equipment, projectors, televisions, computer learning stations, etc., including uploading of computer based training, if applicable, are functional.
Begin each lesson on time and teach for the prescribed amount of time IAW the student schedule unless the Division Chief or higher authorizes a deviation.
Perform instruction/demonstration and evaluations as required by the syllabi and Plan of Instruction (POI). Maintain average or above on Government-provided lesson critiques.
Review learning objectives with students in preparation for examinations.
Provide make-up/remedial instruction for missed classes or failed examinations.

Qualifications:
Shall have attended a formal Firearms Instructor Training Program.
Must be capable of bearing arms in accordance with AFI 31-207.
Shall be considered USAF Arming Group A personnel as per AFI 36-2226, Pg. 38, section 4.3.1. Individuals in Arming Group A must successfully complete the appropriate weapons qualification course once every 12 months. Additionally, Group A individuals must complete unit level proficiency/sustainment training on their primary weapon 5 to 7 months after each 12 month qualification IAW AFI 31-207, Pg 14, Section 2.4.1., and comply with standardized weapons handling procedures as set forth in AFMAN 31-229, USAF Weapons Handling Chapters 1-4 and 6, and Attachments 1-2 and 4.
Position requires access to firearms or ammunition and those having qualifying conviction under the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (Statutes 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9), 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(33), 18 U.S.C. § 922(d)(9)) are not eligible.
Desired experience as instructional staff that coordinate and/or oversee specialized training programs such as the Precision Rifle, Handgun, and Submachine-Gun Training.
Shall have knowledge, training and experience in the subject matter from previous career positions, which can include U.S. military, high power rifle team members/coaches, tactical assault team members (Special Operation Groups), and members of state and/or local law enforcement special weapons and tactics teams.
Must be task certified on firing line official duties by a Combat Arms NCOIC and qualified on the weapon and course of fire before performing firing line official duties.
Experience applying health and safety standards for firearms and explosives training facilities.
Experience designing, implementing, and managing firearms training programs to include all supportive training material.
Experience serving as a senior firearms instructor.
