Driver and Personal Protective Officer – Designated Defensive Marksman (DPPO-DDM) (Global) (TS/SCI)

Job Summary:
DPPO-DDMs shall serve as armed drivers and personal protective officers for Government personnel at designated overseas high-threat environment locations as well as to provide direct mission support as required by operational mission elements. The DDM shall serve as the advanced marksman providing precision fire, strategic over-watch and recon capabilities to the operational security teams.


Principal Accountabilities:
· DPPO-DDMs shall be trained and provide surveillance detection, route surveillance, armed protection, and defensive tactics capabilities in protection of Government’s personnel and designees and while transporting Government equipment.
· DPPO-DDM shall be responsible for providing threat detection to minimize protectee’s exposure to hostile individuals and incidents.
· DPPO-DDM may be called upon to provide static surveillance, counter surveillance, and other nontraditional protective countermeasures.
· DPPO-DDM shall be capable of responding to various threats to include Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (VBIED), Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), direct fire from small arms and ground assaults by multiple personnel possessing various types of hand held or shoulder mounted weapon systems (military rifles, machine guns, rocket propelled grenades, etc), indirect fire by mortars and rockets, individual suicide bombers and employment of other weapons of mass destruction in an unconventional warfare environment.
· DPPO-DDM may be required to initiate rapid response to threats or attacks that may exceed normal or established responsibilities. Such threats include armed attack, breaches of perimeters or checkpoints, hostile protests, direct or indirect fire, etc. DPPO-DDM shall assist with emergency safety, evacuation, recovery and reaction force procedures of personnel from situations of imminent threat or actual attack and the application of emergency medical care to Government personnel and designees involved in trauma situations.

Physical Requirements:
· Daily hours worked can be as few as eight (8) to as many as twenty-four (24), depending upon the site and the Government requirements. A DPPO-DDM shall typically deploy for a 60 to 90 day rotational basis with each DPPO having a rest or break in service period of at least 30 days.
· Travel and work in austere and harsh environments

Able to meet the following health and physical requirements:
· Candidates shall successfully pass and maintain physical fitness, vision and hearing requirements as mandated by the contract.
· Must shall successfully pass and maintain the medical and psychological requirements as dictated by the contract..
· Annual medical and dental recertification.
· Demonstrates oral and written command of the English language to the extent of comprehending printed regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials. Shall be able to compose and convey concise and accurate reports.
· All candidates shall complete DD Form 2760 to determine whether the employee may lawfully possess a firearm.

Experience Required:
· Cleared to the Government’s TOP SECRET clearance level and submit an SF86, Questionnaire for National Security Positions and agree to be administered a counterintelligence-scope polygraph by the Government. When successfully completed the individual shall be indoctrinated for TOP SECRET/SI access.
· Possesses a valid U.S. driver’s license.
· Has a minimum of five (5) years military service in force protection or Special Operations or five years civilian Personal Security Detail experience in a hostile overseas environment.
· Has a minimum of five (5) years military service in force protection or military police, or five years civilian experience in anti-terrorism force protection (ATFP) in a hostile overseas environment.

Education Required:
· Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
· Candidate must successfully meet current and annual recertification on weapon’s qualification for any weapon stipulated by the contract.
· Must successfully complete DI’s training as mandated by the contract.
· Able to successfully train and complete designated defensive marksman training course.
· Must maintain current proficiency in defensive driving techniques. Driving training shall require annual recertification.

Experience/Education Preferred:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
· 2 years experience as a Driver/Personal Protection Officer DDM.
· SF Weapons Sergeant or equivalent Occupational Field
