The SOCA trainer is required to deliver familiarisation training to SOCA Senior Liaison Officers (SLO) including Armed Protection Team (APT) operating procedures and drills, and the provision of Range Conducting Officers (RCO) and Range Safety Officers (RSO) for SLO live fire static, and live fire 'cover and movement' drills.
Role Responsibility:
oduce Casualty Evacuation Plans as part of the risk assessment process
Design and conduct a familiarisation APT training program for all SLO's firearms training
Design a monthly training program for all SOCA live fire static, and fire, cover and movement shotts for SOCA Authorised Firearms Officers
Produce documented Risk Assessments for each activity undertaken together with Casualty Evacuation Plans
Ensure shoot documentation is submitted to the SOCA Head of International Training / Firearms Training Manager UK for approval.
Provide and document range safety briefings to all SLO's before undertaking the shooting activity
Maintain individuals records of attendance and scores within each discipline together with written assessments of performance
Provide records of training to SOCA Head of International Training
Arrange bookings of appropriate ranges and training facilities
Provide both theoretical and practical training, exercising potential scenarios that the APT / SLO may face whilst going about their duties in Afghanistan.
Safeguard equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures, conduct a daily check of weapons systems and ammunition issued and ensure that all weapons are properly secured at all times
Maintain all personal issue equipment including vehicles, weapons, radios etc.
Provide documentation
The Ideal Candidate:
Military Range Conducting Officer plus Part IV and V Field Firing qualification or National Police Firearms Instructor (NPFI0 qualification
Evidence of recent experience running live 'Fire, Cover and Movement' training.
Applicants will hold or be required to apply for Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearance.
