The ECU Instructor reports to the Explosives Countermeasures Unit (ECU) Chief, located in the Special Skills Branch, Security and Law Enforcement Training Division, Office of Training and Peformance Support(TPS), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), U.S. Department of State. The TPS is a fully accredited academy through Federal Law Enforcement Training Accreditation (FLETA). The incumbent will serve as an instructor for explosives and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) recognition and avoidance techniques with responsibility for planning, organizing, and presenting and/or managing the presentation of one or more of these courses and for evaluating training effectiveness to ensure that objectives are met.
