DanChurchAid is looking to hire a Programme Manager in its Mine Action Programme in Libya. The Programme Manager will be responsible for managing staff, office and implementation of the mine action programme and projects. The posting is a non-family duty station.
The Programme Manager will refer to the HMA Head of Unit in DCA HQ, and have the following overall responsibilities:
Ensure funding and full implementation of the DCA mine action programme including monitoring of the work carried out in the operations, logistics, finance and administration and ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with DCA guidelines, values and policies
Ensure financial and administrative oversight and that expenses are closely followed and allotted to the relevant budgets
Overall management of the DCA Mine Action programme including staff, projects, budgets, security plans, finances and administration, in line with relevant DCA guidelines.
Liaison with the mine action authorities, the UN, donors, visitors to the programme, the media and ACT alliance as appropriate.
Applicants are expected to have the following qualifications:
Fluency in English
At least five years of documented experience in results based management and leadership
At least three years of field experience in development and/or humanitarian work, preferably in Africa
Ability to work in volatile and challenging environment and under tight deadlines
Accountability and integrity
Cultural sensitivity and the ability to build relations both within and outside DCA
Ability to lead and motivate the team, identify priorities, take decisions, delegate, and monitor the work of others
Excellent fundraising, networking, and oral and written communication skills
Experience in writing reports as well as project proposals
Experience in all aspects of project cycle management (design, planning, budgeting, monitoring, administration, reporting and evaluation)
Experience with, and knowledge of mine action will be an advantage
