PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Education Requirements:
• Military/Police training of at least the level of commissioned officer
• Further studies/qualification in Security/Risk Management will be well regarded
Experience Requirements:
• A minimum of 15 years in a similar role leading and managing a security department
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of security and assets protection matters in the mining industry
• Thorough technical knowledge of security management, investigations, surveillance and administration
• Sound understanding of the political/economical/financial/social sensitivities around operating in remote sites and in particular developing countries
• Significant experience and sound judgement in dealing with conflict situations and analysing conflicting data and scenarios and advising superiors on an appropriate plan of action.
