Medic (Proposal) - North Africa , Central Africa Republic

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
� Provide health care services to both local national and international team members.
� Provide emergency medical training to local nationals designated as team medics.
� Examine patients, perform physical exams and compile medical data, including health history.
� Apply scientific knowledge to treat human responses to actual or potential health problems.
� Coordinate with operational mission planners for a safe evacuation of the patients from the originating mission to destination facility.
� Manage medical logistical operations.
� Document and maintain medical reports and patient records of services.

Knowledge & Skills
� Ability to work independently, and make sound judgments and decisions regarding medical patient care with little or no medical authority.
� Knowledge of and ability to coordinate evacuation of individuals in and out of a combat zone.
� Knowledge of and ability to manage medical records and medical equipment.
� Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment.
� Ability to communicate in the English language in verbal and written communications.
Experience & Education

� Six (6) to eight (8) years experience in the medical field.
� Minimum five (5) years experience in medical training and instruction.
� Degree in related medical field or equivalent experience; two (2) years experience in related field can be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.
� Required certifications include EMT-Paramedic certification with at least one-year remaining on ACLS/CPR certifications and current license in a related vocational field.
� Experience managing a health care services operation and logistics.
� Experience on deployed contingency operations, or real-world management of medical operations, to include MEDEVACs and medical logistics.
� Experience working in developing countries in remote locations, austere living conditions and challenging environments would be beneficial and advantageous.
� Preferred military experience.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
� May be required to lift and carry heavy objects up to 80 lbs.
� Must be able to walk and stand for up to eight (8) hours per day and may be required to work more than 8 hours per day.
� May be required work in area containing unexploded ordnance (UXO).
� May be exposed to extreme noise while conducting demolitions operation.
� May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.



Preferred Skills
Percentage of travel is determined by the customer; must be able to travel and live at overseas work locations in any country across the region.

Location Specific Considerations

� Must be able to travel and live at overseas work locations and meet minimum agility and health standards required by contract.
� Will be required to plan for and work in a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions, rudimentary infrastructure, field deployments that implicate extended deployment periods of time in tents and hazardous conditions consistent with working in a remote and harsh environment for periods of up to three months or more at any one time.
� Experience working in developing countries in remote locations, austere living conditions and challenging environments would be beneficial and advantageous.
� Cultural awareness, sensitivity, responsiveness to local environments and ability to work within an ethnically diverse team structure.
