THE ROLE
The Security Trainer/ Coordinator will lead on external security training activities to the humanitarian community which will involve managing the training course content, training delivery and liaising with relief agencies to ensure their security needs are understood and met in South Sudan. The post holder will also be the local security focal point function for RedR’s programme in South Sudan and Kenya. A full Job Description is available on the RedR website.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
• Strong technical competencies in security management and experience with the NGO security management framework
• Experience in participatory training in safety related subjects
• Highly motivated, with the ability to further develop programme
• Proven record of excellent people skills, including good communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with humanitarian operations, backed up by relevant experience in complex emergencies (ideally in a range of locations)
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly between South Sudan and Kenya.
• Experience with liaison with NGOs, UNDSS and other key security actors (desirable)
• Previous experience working in the Region is desirable
TERMS
• Location: Based in Kenya (Nairobi) with frequent travel to South Sudan (Juba)
• Contract: Fixed term until Feb 2013
• Salary: £23,340 to £25,000 p/a, plus accommodation and other benefits
