Job Description
The Security Operations Manager will be responsible for scoping and planning the Security Operations activities for Glasgow 2014. A key part of this role will be leading on the procurement of Physical Security Systems (PSS), defining the security workforce deployments, developing the security operations manuals and developing and managing the Corporate Security Structure.
Main Responsibilities
The Security Operations Manager reports to the Security Manager and the post holder will be responsible for the following core roles:
Define and develop the 2014 Security Roadmap in association with the Glasgow 2014 Security Manager and Strathclyde Police
Scope the Physical Security Systems (PSS) and equipment necessary to support the secure integrity of the 2014 venues
Develop Policies, Plans and Procedures as parameters for Games security activity
Provide specialist security input to the design of Games venues, sites and facilities
Develop and produce all Security and Games-time documentation
Build and manage a high performance team
Essential Requirements
Candidates must have a proven track record in managing Security Operations in a high profile multi sport Games environment or equivalent. In addition, you will have a thorough understanding of the security licensing and legislative requirements surrounding private contract security in the UK. You will also have a proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary organisation where your interpersonal skills have allowed you to build active, cooperative partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders. Your strong leadership skills provide you with an ability to motivate multiple teams towards a common goal.
