SAIC currently has an opening for a USMC Combat Operations Center (COC) TASK MANAGER supporting our C4IT Business Unit's US Marine Corps C4I at CAMP COURTNEY in URUMA CITY, OKINAWA, JAPAN.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidate will provide life cycle management and integrated logistics support functions for the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Combat Operations Center (COC) Sustainment Program for III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) and supporting units located in Japan and Hawaii. Position is based on Okinawa Japan. Candidate will support the SPAWARSYSCENLANT COC Product Support Integrator (PSI) and In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) by supporting the execution of a Performance Based Logistics (PBL) field-level sustainment and product improvement strategy. As a team member, the candidate will serve as the primary POC for COC issues and be responsible for providing management, logistics, and engineering support coordination for III MEF and supporting establishment units possessing approximately 40 COC variants. The candidate will provide program information, fielding schedules, support information, and program briefings and updates. The candidate will be required to coordinate, establish effective relations, and perform routine and assistance visits with COC owning units and higher command elements to aid in system inventory and identification, set up, operational check, modification installation, exercise support, and pre-deployment planning. The candidate will coordinate support for operations and exercises with the Product Support Provider (PSP) and provide feedback to the PSI-ISEA. The candidate will be responsible to the PSI-ISEA for coordination of delivery and installation of COC hardware and software upgrades including disposition of replaced material. The candidate will coordinate COC New Equipment Training (NET) for the COC and coordinate with the MAGTF Integrated Systems Training Center (MISTC) and the MEF Communication Training Center (CTC) for non-NET COC training including Tactical Data System (TDS) training to support COC operations. The candidate will execute other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the PSI-ISEA.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional travel is expected (up to 25% annually).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and at least fifteen (15+) years military leadership and field operations or maintenance of either ground or aviation command and control systems is preferred. A valid High School education and at least twenty (20+) years of the same experience may be considered in place of the degree requirement.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Candidate must be capable of working independently and as a member of a team with with only nominal direction in a dynamic work environment; communicating effectively (orally and in writing); proficiently operating Microsoft Office products; effectively interacting with US Government clients, program management personnel, Marines, and other contractors comfortably and professionally.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Department of Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification in logistics or program management is a plus.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Ability to successfully cross-over and maintain a DoD Secret or higher clearance is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
