Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversee and perform basic to intermediate levels of classroom, laboratory, and practical instruction involving live fire combat shooting, small unit tactics operations and techniques; Oversee and perform the safe operations of 9 mm pistol and M4/M16 rifle, as well as other systems; Perform classroom, laboratory, and practical instruction on tactical vehicle operations and convoy procedures in all environments; Oversee and perform the safe operation of laser simulation weapon systems; Oversee and perform nighttime live fire of small arms with night optical devices; Perform course preparations including, classroom, weapon loading, weapon mounting, ammo breakout, target placement, computer set up, practical area set up, vehicle staging; Perform operator level weapons cleaning, maintenance and repairs.
Required Skills and Experience:
Graduate of Instructor Training course; Current (within the past 12-months) certificate of completion Tactical Casualty Combat Care live tissue medical training; Possess valid CPR certification; Current (within the past 12-months) certificate for completion training on required weapons systems including M9 Pistol, M11 Weapons System, M4/M16, M14, M240/M60, Small Arms Line Coach; Meet Navy High-Risk Training requirements.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Six years minimum experience in special operations (Army Rangers or Special Forces, Navy SEALs, Air Force Combat Controller, Marine Recon, or UK/Australian SAS) or US Navy EOD with shooting experience; Graduate of small arms weapons training such as Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat or equivalent small arms weapons training; Graduate of tactical/evasive driving training; Graduate of SERE Level C; Master Training Specialist (or equivalent); minimum two years instructional experience in the areas required by this course may be considered sufficient.
