Responsibilities
The Police/Law enforcement (LE) Advisor will provide reliable and frequent expert advice on matters pertaining to the integration of law enforcement capabilities into COIN doctrine, operations and theory. The Police Advisor will interface with both international and host nation LE elements to enable relevant analysis and recommendations on police related issues at multiple echelons. The LE Advisor will provide analysis and recommended courses of action including, but not limited to, national and local police training, equipment, and manpower. In addition, he/she will synchronize the nation's police forces with the military for operational efficiency and effects based on analysis of counter narcotics initiatives.
Experience and Education:
• Minimum 15 years of law enforcement experience, including at least three years in senior supervisory positions (equivalent to military O4/GS 13 or above) with United States Federal or State Police agencies, or equivalent coalition partner nation expertise
• Minimum of one year of recent and direct experience in training foreign LE forces (e.g., in Iraq or Afghanistan), working with Afghan National level police agencies
• Must demonstrate an understanding of US interagency and ISAF operations and procedures, particularly as they apply to law enforcement training of the Afghan National Security Forces..............
