My client, an international security company are now seeking a Security manager for a one years contract in Belgium starting early January 2011.
You will oversee all aspects of the Physical Security Risk Technologies including CCTV, intrusion and access control platforms including day to day technology vendor oversight and relations with internal maintenance teams.
Therefore your specific responsibilities will be under the direction of the Belgium Head of Security & Mobility, the physical security manager has below duties:
Operational Physical Security Management
• Define and implement an efficient maintenance programme for all security equipments.
• Ensure proper follow-up of security equipment's availability and maintenance organization.
• Follow-up and report on security equipments providers' performance.
• Responsible for developing and implementing security system design specification for all new projects in Belgium (i.e. newly planned, constructed or renovated facilities), in line with Global and Corporate requirements.
• Continuously assess equipments' performance versus actual security needs.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the state of the art security equipment standards and technology encompassing all physical security products.
• Act as the primary contact for physical security system during management of emergency events.
• Advise and assist in the annual security systems budgeting process.
Internal Advices
• Lead the security department's efforts in the physical security layout of work space, security system and hardware design for newly planned, constructed or renovated facilities.
• Represent the security department anytime an internal advise is needed regarding security systems implementation
SECURITY EDUCATION
• Organize and perform trainings and awareness sessions in the field of physical security as required for both internal and external employees.
Stakeholder Management
• Establish good and regular contacts with all relevant internal and external stakeholders. In particular build a strong network with the different internal maintenance and construction/engineering departments.
Additionnal Duties
• Lead cross facilities physical security project.
• Provide technical advises on physical security projects on all Belgium facilities.
• Assist the Belgium Head of Security and Mobility on projects as requested.
To be eligible for this role you will need the following skills, knowledge and experience:-
• University degree or college diploma in an area of study relevant to the position, or comparable professional education/training in a field relevant to physical security management. A bachelor's degree in engineering or other relevant field is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a corporate or government security department within an organisation of comparable size and complexity to the clients Biologicals, including at least 5 years experience with the integration of physical electronic security systems (intrusion detection, CCTV, access control), central station alarm reporting, and security software.
• Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of the physical security systems (e.g. access control, CCTV, security lighting, perimeter/interior intrusion detection, security lighting, etc.).
• Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of project planning and implementation related to physical security technologies.
• Extensive knowledge of vendor performance management.
• Knowledge of security risk analysis/management theory and practical methods/techniques.
• Knowledge of Operational Risk Management and Enterprise Risk Management concepts and practical methods/techniques.
• Solid understanding of organisational priorities and relationships.
• Solid understanding of current and emerging laws and regulations in Belgium.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organization and planning skills.
• Proven ability to manage crisis and emergency incidents.
• Strong consulting skills.
• Must be able to work with businesses on a business perspective and interpret security context in a way understandable to business and non-technical people.
• Self-starter, strategic thinker, negotiator and consensus builder.
• Professional designation in security management (e.g. ASIS Physical Security Professional [PSP]) would be an asset.
• FLUENT IN FRENCH IS A MUST, English is highly desirable.
This role would suit a bi lingual individual (French must be Fluent or Native Standard as all work carried out in Belgium will be in French), who has a strong corporate security background and not a CP background, as you will be dealing within the corporate world.
The salary package is negotiable, as you will be working for my client as a contractor, but working on their clients site for the duration of the contract. However as a contractor, you will be responsible for your own food and accommodation while working in Belgium.
