LENOIR CITY, TN (June 4, 2009) – EOD Technology, Inc. (EODT) received an $99.9 million ID/IQ contract award to provide security services within the Task Force Duke Area of Operations in Eastern Afghanistan. Task Force Duke is a coalition task force responsible for securing northeastern Afghanistan, including four of the provinces - Konar, Nanganhar, Laghman and Nuristan. The first Task Order awarded under this contract is for services at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Fenty for $8.5M.
The contract was awarded by the Combined Joint Task Force 101 (CJTF-101), the U.S.-led task force leading the Global Counter Terrorism Forces (GCTF), which includes Task Force Duke. As part of this contract, EODT will manage access at entry control points (ECP), blocking unauthorized personnel, contraband, weapons or explosives from entering the installations; man the guard towers and conduct surveillance and counter-surveillance of the installation perimeter and vicinity; and employ appropriate force to neutralize any threat from unauthorized individuals attempting to enter the facilities.
