Duties and Responsibilities
Security Guard Supervisors are accountable to the CSO/DCSO, through the designated Officer in Charge [OIC] of Compound Security Unit. This position is in the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), duty station Abyei. Within limits of delegated authority and under the guidance and supervision of the Officer in Charge [OIC] of Compound Security Unit, the incumbent will be responsible to carry out the following duties and responsibilities: • The Team Leader [Supervisor] shall assist in the supervision of his/her team. • Supervise and ensure strict control of entry and exit points within the compound. • Verify identification, passes, and authorization of all personnel, vehicles, and visitors. • Prevent unauthorized access to restricted or sensitive areas. • Oversee daily deployment and performance of security guards. • Conduct regular briefings, assign duties, and ensure adherence to security protocols. • Monitor attendance, discipline, and conduct of security staff. • Organize and supervise regular foot and vehicle patrols inside and around the compound. • Respond to and investigate any suspicious activities. • Act as the first point of command in case of security incidents, breaches, or emergencies. • Prepare and submit timely incident/occurrence reports to the Security Officer or Admin. • Maintain accurate records of security-related activities and incidents. • Guide staff and visitors during emergencies (e.g., fire, evacuation, medical emergencies). • Ensure smooth handover/takeover between shifts with proper briefing. • Enforce compound rules, regulations, and security standard operating procedures (SOPs). • Ensure guards follow proper dress code, conduct, and professionalism. • Conduct periodic checks to ensure posts are always manned. • Safeguard compound property, facilities, and equipment against theft, damage, or misuse. • Monitor storage areas, parking zones, and high-value equipment locations. • Ensure availability and accountability of security equipment (radios, flashlights, etc.). • The Team Leader shall perform any other duties assigned by the supervisors of CSU.

Qualifications/special skills
High School or equivalent diploma is required At least one (1) year experience in UN Security Guard Force Management is required At least one (1) year of progressive experience with a local, national or private police, security, fire brigade organization or previous operational, administrative occupation/employment is desirable.

Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
