Job Location: Sudan
The starting salary package for this position is £49,860 GBP / approx. $67,403 USD including all allowances.
About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Security and Access Manager to support the establishment of organization’s programme in Sudan. Reporting to the Country Director and working together with organization’s global security team, you will be responsible for the effective implementation and management of organization’s Safety, Security and Duty of Care framework across organization’s programme in Sudan. You will monitor and assess security conditions, establish and manage access procedures, and accordingly advise management. You will also be responsible for developing and delivering safety and security training and mentoring and developing a local security and access team. This role will provide you with the opportunity to use your skills in stakeholder engagement by establishing and maintaining relationships with security networks and a range of local security stakeholders.
About you:
We are looking for candidates with extensive security management experience, who understand implementation of humanitarian principles and conflict sensitive approaches, as well as experience in developing and delivering security training. You should have experience living and working in high-risk, remote environments, ideally within the Horn of Africa region, and an understanding of the Sudan context. Expertise in critical incident management is essential, and you would need to demonstrate skills in political, security, and conflict analysis, as well as the development of security risk assessments.
You should be a skilled communicator, with proven ability to influence and negotiate in a diplomatic manner. An ability to remain calm under pressure, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and negotiate in complex situations will be key for this role. You will also have experience in working with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams, with the ability to advise and support colleagues in a consultative and positive manner. You must also be pragmatic and flexible as well as committed to organization’s mission and values. Proficiency in English is essential, and Arabic language skills would be advantageous. Knowledge of Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) operations although advantageous is not essential for this role.
About the Sudan programme:
The organizationhas been previously operational in Sudan, and is re-establishing its programme in response to high humanitarian mine action needs as a result of the ongoing conflict. With programme start-up ongoing, plans to scale up programming to conduct emergency survey, clearance and explosive ordnance risk education activities, in support of humanitarian delivery and early post-conflict recovery in conflict-affected communities.

Accommodation: Organization will provide accommodation in-country.
Leave: We recognise our staff work hard and need the appropriate time out to stay motivated. You'll have a minimum of eight weeks out of the programme per year.
Flights: Organization provides four international flights home per year.
Insurance: Programme based staff are automatically covered by comprehensive insurance package including: Personal accident and medical expenses insurance; Death by natural causes insurance and access to 24-hour medical assistance.
