Job Location: Balad , Iraq
Flight PackageGardaWorld will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address.
The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary, and tertiary hub airport from the GardaWorld hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, GardaWorld will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.
The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address. The Company will pay for any transfers from the airport near the project location or any other intermediate landing location to the Consultant’s accommodation at the project.

Proficiency in mission planning tools, GPS tracking systems, and encrypted communications.
Excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills, with strong cultural awareness.
Skilled in team development, mentoring, and operational oversight.
Working knowledge of vehicle convoy tactics, embus/debus procedures, and close protection methodologies.
Strong written and verbal reporting capabilities, including SITREPs and AARs.
Essential Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of military, law enforcement, or private security experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership PSD role.
Valid close protection qualification or equivalent recognized certification.
Extensive experience operating in austere environments, preferably in Iraq or similar locations.
Valid firearms competency certification and medical trauma qualification (e.g., FPOS-I/FREC Level 3, or equivalent).
Clean criminal record and ability to pass international vetting standards.
Physically fit and able to meet the demands of extended operational deployments.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Desirable:
Valid close protection qualification or equivalent recognized certification.
Extensive experience operating in austere environments, preferably in Iraq or similar locations.

Services
Services provided by the contractor shall include, but not be limited to, the provision of leadership, oversight, and tactical direction for multiple Personal Security Detachments (PSDs) operating in and around Balad, Iraq. The PSD Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the daily execution of all protective security missions, ensuring compliance with operational protocols and international security standards. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding designated clients and assets through the deployment of trained teams, armoured vehicles, and real-time risk assessment. Services the contractor can expect to carry out, but are not limited to, are as follows:Direct and supervise PSD team leaders, medics, drivers, and tactical commanders during security operations and convoy movements.
Coordinate and plan all client movement operations, including route planning, vehicle allocation, and mission-specific threat assessments.
Ensure all PSD personnel maintain readiness through rigorous adherence to training schedules, rehearsals, and SOP compliance.
Maintain regular communication with the Tactical Operations Center (TOC), reporting mission status, incident updates, and deviations from planned routes.
Oversee mission planning documentation, including risk assessments, client itineraries, route maps, and contingency plans.
Conduct After Action Reviews (AARs) and debriefs post-mission to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
Ensure PSD equipment, including weapons, communications systems, and vehicles, are operational and properly maintained.
Act as the principal liaison for client representatives, ensuring their safety, comfort, and mission confidence.
Monitor evolving threat environments and coordinate the dissemination of real-time intelligence and operational guidance to field teams.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations for PSD team members in accordance with contract and security industry standards.
This position is essential for the safe and effective execution of personal security missions in a dynamic operational environment, ensuring protective assets function at maximum efficiency and professionalism.
