Project Security Manager - Basra, Iraq (Potential)

Job Purpose:
The Project Security Manager (PSM) provides security consultancy, management, and quality assurance to all key stakeholders on this client contract in Basra. The PSM is the primary interface between the client and the company.

The PSM will be responsible for the maintenance of a high level of standards and disciplines within the armed protection team, ensuring that all conduct is in line with Control Risks SOP's

Role Tasks And Responsibilities

Security Management

Conduct full threat and vulnerability assessment of operations in close coordination with the client and Control Risks personnel.
Producing and maintaining the project specific SOP's, ensuring they remain current and in line with changes to the operating environment.
Lead on the mobilisation of additional armed protection teams, ensuring that they are compliant with the client minimum operating security standards.
In conjunction with client security, maintain evacuation and medical plans.
Maintaining responsibility of managing security within the client operations and identification of threats.
Review existing contingency plans and, where appropriate, develop and exercise these under direction and guidance of the client.
Monitors local security threat conditions and advises of issues likely to impact the project's movements and operations.
Oversees the armed protection teams, to ensure the effective provision of security to our client in line with our SOP's.
Provide a weekly and end of month summary to the client of the project's manning and vehicle (MAV) usage.
Production of documentation to support billing in line with the MAV summary.
Production of a client monthly report detailing a summary of the previous month's activities and project statistics.
Incident management, ensuring that all relevant information is communicated to the business and client within report timelines.
Maintain high standards of customer service.

Operations Management
Ensuring that armed protection team tasks are conducted in line with the client produced Daily Tasking Sheet.
Oversee the collection of weekly statistics relating to mileage of the projects vehicles to ensure compliance to vehicle servicing schedules.
Coordinate the movement of armed protection teams for administrative tasks outside of the Daily Tasking Sheet.
Participate in and coordinate the response to emergency security calls.
Oversight and quality control, including reporting of contract manning levels to the client.
Liaise and engage with all stakeholders within client operation to help ease relationships and understanding
Assist and manage the security implications.
Develop and maintain contract Quality Assurance and Quality Capability on client operations.
Comply with all client reporting requirements.


Requirements
Essential
Extensive experience working with oil and gas clients.
Previous military or law enforcement experience.
A minimum of 15 years cumulative experience.
Previous experience of security management or project management in a hostile environment (Iraq or Afghanistan).
Knowledge of journey management in a hostile environment.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of the operational and tactical requirements for mobile security operations and operations in multicultural hostile environment.
Possesses tact, sound judgement, and ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
Exceptional leadership skills demonstrated by a record of managing teams dynamically and motivating individuals to deliver on objectives towards corporate goals.
Experienced in the methodology and application of physical and personnel security risk measures.

Preferred
Training in leadership skills and performance management.
Previous experience working on oil and gas projects.
Southern Iraq wide experience.

Essential
Qualifications and specialist skills
Project management qualification to NVQ, HNC/D, L6 or L7 level (consideration can be given on relevant experience or other project/security management related qualifications.
Security Industry Authority (SIA) frontline - close protection qualified.
Proficient and confident in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Native English speaker.

Preferred
Security and Risk Management qualifications.
Understanding of HSE issues and qualifications.
