Security Supervisor - Afghanistan

The objective of the Security Supervisor is to provide security services to AFIAT staff and property in the relevant province.

General Responsibilities:
Reporting:Reports to Senior Provincial Manager (SPM) on a day-to-day basis with technical direction from the Regional Security Officer (RSO)
Writes written reports on office assessments and meetings.

Administration:
Supervises Guards in their responsibilities, performance including leave, absence, shift work, procurement requirements and training.
Provides input into the security procedures and upgrades via the RSO.
Inspects and controls access control procedures, vehicle processes, security equipment, access control points, fire extinguishers and other safety equipment
Provides reports to the RSO for the takeover/handover, log book reports for vehicles etc.
Tracks district travel of staff and vehicles via WhatsApp

Training / Briefings:
Ensure training for guards on access control and immediate action drills
Briefs the RSO on any security related matter that impacts the office or area

Other Duties:
Liaises with security-related key leaders including the police, GDI, DPVPV etc
Assist the SPM in incident management (relocation / medivac etc) including logistics and escorting staff to safe zones or hospitals if required.
Manages generator ignition and switches off accordingly.
Other duties as assigned by the RSO or SPM in line with security duties

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: 
Bachelor’s degree preferred. A high School degree is mandatory

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years experience in a security guard experience.
1-2 years of supervisor experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Understanding rosters, shifts, coverage and basic guard management
Ability to train guards on access control, search techniques and etiquette
English Language abilities
Good ability / familiarity with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel and Power point
Local knowledge of the province
Ability to read and write in English.
Ability to use a computer
Able to do local community engagement with the Police, Intelligence, Vice & Virtue etc
