Security Information Analyst - Afghanistan

Position: Security Information Analyst (SIA)

Rotation: 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off, subject to operational requirements

Role Overview:

As a Security Information Analyst with GardaWorld, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate intelligence analysis to support the European Delegation Mission to Afghanistan in Kabul. This role requires a keen understanding of the political, social, and security dynamics in Afghanistan, as well as the ability to gather, assess, and disseminate intelligence to facilitate informed decision-making and risk mitigation strategies.

Services

Services provided by the Contractor shall be those typically expected for someone in the Position and include, but not be limited to the provision of protective services to ensure the safety and security of all client staff and other personnel who come under duty of care of EUDEL Kabul, Afghanistan. Services the Contractor can expect to carry out, would include:Responsibility for the Security Information Analyst, the Local Security Information Analyst and the EU Joint Analysis Cell (EUJAC)
Conduct comprehensive analysis on political, security, and social developments in Afghanistan, with a focus on Kabul.
Monitor and assess threats, risks, and emerging trends that may impact the European Delegation Mission's operations and personnel.
Collect and analyze open-source information, including media reports, social media, and government publications, to identify relevant intelligence indicators.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, security partners, and local contacts, to gather and verify intelligence information.
Produce clear and concise intelligence reports, assessments, and briefings for decision-makers within the European Delegation Mission.
Provide timely updates and situational awareness to key personnel, including security managers and operational staff.
EUJAC products play a vital part in EU Delegation risk management and mitigation and have a direct impact on the operational posture and tempo of Delegation work.
In conjunction with the ISM, designs, implements and rehearses SOPs and Contingency Plans for the EUJAC;
Reporting to the ISM and Authority on operational matters as well as contract and administrative issues.
Any other direction or reasonable request given by appropriate GardaWorld Management team in accordance with GW Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.

Role requirements

Only candidates that meet and are able to demonstrate the below hiring criteria’s will be considered:Thorough knowledge of the country's security environment with recent experience in Afghanistan and preferably in Kabul;
A professional career record in information and intelligence; acquiring security related information from recognised sources, with a proven capability of producing threat and risk assessments based on information received and processed;
He/she will be of EU nationality and have graduated from and served a minimum of 5 years in an EU Member State military or police, ideally with experience of working in intelligence whilst serving. They should have held a minimum rank of NATO rank OR7 or police equivalent.
Experience of minimum 1 year in line management of office processing information, with proven experience in project management.
Ideally he / she has served in a similar international position in high risk hostile / conflict environment for a minimum period of 3 years consecutively within the past 5 years, attested by reference letters from current and/or former employers;
Proven knowledge of radio equipment and radio operational procedures;
English according to, at least, level B2 as defined in the standards available at http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/resources/european-language-levels-cefr, some knowledge of an Afghan language would be an advantage;
Fully IT-literate in Word and Excel;
Valid EU driving licence categories C, C1. Certified as B6 trained;
Excellent knowledge in first aid, to be proven through relevant certificates.
