International Security Analyst (ISA)

About the job
"As part of a request for proposal, Amarante International is looking for two International Security Analyst (ISA) expert."

ISA’s tasks :
The ISA will be responsible for informing the contracting authority of developments in the security situation in Somalia for the clients contract. Reporting directly to the Mission Security Analysis Officer (MSAO) and the clients Project Manager, duties include:

• Draft meeting minutes, bi-weekly security reports, and submit them to the MSAO for review and validation;
• Write briefings prior to missions carried out by clients staff (Red Move);
• Red Move Pre-mission briefings;
• Assist the MSAO in drafting SPECREP and SITREP reports;
• Daily update on the security situation in Somalia as required;
• Social and open source media monitoring;
• Attending meeting with security stakeholders;
• In collaboration with the MSAO or in his absence, inform the Project Manager on any subject related to the security analysis;
• All tasks as instructed by the MSAO/Project Manager.

Qualifications and skills :
• Be physically fit to perform all assigned duties;
• Must be in possession of a valid certificate/booklet of vaccination showing all vaccinations and immunisations received. They also must be vaccinated according to the required immunisations for the Area of Operation of the Mission;
• Proficient/independent in English language (speaking, writing, listening, and reading); min. level of C1 (Certification must be provided);
• Valid First aid qualification (FPOS or equivalent, Certification must be provided);
• Weapons qualified for long and short barrelled weapon (Certification must be provided);
• Clear criminal record;
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including positive, cooperative, discrete and diplomatic nature;
• Customer service orientation;
• Ability to operate well under pressure. Specific requirements
• Successful completion of university studies of at least 3 years attested by a diploma OR a qualification in the National Qualifications Framework which is equivalent to level 6 in the European Qualifications Framework OR a qualification of the first cycle under the framework of qualifications of the European Higher Education Area, e.g. Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent and attested police or/and military education or training or an award of an equivalent rank;
• If the education requirement cannot be met, the incumbent should demonstrate at least 7 years of relevant professional experience in the domain of security reporting and analysis;
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
• Very good presentations skills;
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail;
• Excellent drafting and reporting skills to address diverse audiences;
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, graphs, etc.) and/or Access, Outlook and knowledge of GIS tools (e.g. GoogleEarth, ArcGis and Tableau, etc.).

General work experience
• Total professional experience of at least 7 years in the field of security analysis.

Specific professional experience
• Professional experience of which minimum 2 years in an international operational environment (international is defined as a country outside the home nation of the applicant);
• Prior analytical work experience based in Somalia on political and security-related matters, is highly desirable.
