We are recruiting a Mozambique-focused tactical security analyst to be based in Cabo Delgado. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analysing political and security dynamics in Mozambique and preferably be experienced in providing daily operational support to businesses with a presence in that country.

Task and responsibilities will include:
Daily monitoring of relevant security and political developments in Mozambique generally and Cabo Delgado specifically.
Compiling daily security reports covering notable developments in Cabo Delgado
Drafting weekly security reports to support operations in Cabo Delgado
Liaising closely with the Mozambique-based High Risk Managed Services (HRMS) team to support our clients.
Responding to ad hoc requests for verbal and other briefings
Daily monitoring and reporting: The daily security report identifies and analyses security events in each region of Cabo Delgado. This includes coverage of incidents down to the district and village level where appropriate. The report will be produced by the selected candidate, supported by our Tactical Intelligence team and wide network of contacts throughout Mozambique.
Contribute to the development of compelling client deliverables making use of innovative presentation formats, graphics, and methodologies.
Work collaboratively with country and Tactical Intelligence team to ensure that key issues and events are covered, and that client deliverable obligations are met.
Build and maintain a network of contacts and experts across Mozambique.
Use open source and social media to monitor daily security and political events
Develop and maintain government, academic, journalistic, and business contacts in the region to support your analysis.
Share and obtain information from Control Risks security consultants deployed on assignments in the region.
Support Control Risks’ business development and client outreach activities in Mozambique.
Help to win client work by contributing to proposals, participating in client meetings, and carrying out research to support business development initiatives.

Requirements
Relevant experience in political and security risk analysis, market intelligence, public policy, academia, or government, with a primary focus on Cabo Delgado.
Network of professional contacts in Mozambique (public and private sector, policy and academia, journalism, etc.).
Understanding of political, security, regulatory, sector, and operational risks for business in Mozambique.
Ability to write concisely and authoritatively while adhering to strict deadlines and collaborating with colleagues and clients in challenging situations.
Full professional proficiency in English.
Excellent written English skills.
Experience conducting business development, proven track record of winning work (or funding), managing projects, and developing/maintaining client relationships.
