Hiring Organization: Croix-Rouge Française ( French Red Cross )
Closing date17 Mar 2024
As a major player in the social and solidarity economy, the French Red Cross manages a network of more than 600 establishments and services in the health, medico-social and training sectors. It is also the head of 12 regional health and social training institutes.
Internationally, the FIU operates in 16 countries alongside National Societies and 2 regional platforms (PIRAC and PIROI), on the following themes: Health and Disaster Risk Management.
As in the professions it develops and implements in France, the French Red Cross internationally places all its missions in a sustainable humanitarian action plan. This translates into an articulation of emergency, post-emergency, post-crisis and reconstruction activities aimed at maximum efficiency. The aim is to carry out actions with lasting effects and to enable populations to regain their full autonomy.
Our association also wants to strengthen its presence and promote its priority commitments within the International Movement.
By joining us, you will share our commitment and ethics and develop your skills.
The French Red Cross (CRF) has been operational in CAR since 2004. In partnership with the host national society, the Central African Red Cross (CRCA), the FIU is mainly involved in the following areas:
The provision of care: initial and continuing paramedical training, strengthening of health systems, fight against communicable diseases (HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, etc.) and non-communicable diseases (malnutrition), maternal, newborn and child health, community health, psychosocial support.
Public health: access to drinking water and sanitation, hygiene promotion, waste management, food security, agricultural development and livestock.
Ad hoc crisis management, according to needs on the ground: emergency response to crises and recovery (population displacement, etc.).
The FIU's strategy in the Central African Republic is, in partnership with the Central African Republic, to contribute to reducing the structural causes of the vulnerabilities of the populations of Bangui and Mambéré Kadei, and to respond to the specific needs related to crises through the development of integrated interventions that meet the essential needs of the populations, while providing technical assistance to the authorities in the fight against HIV-AIDS and TB.
The Central African Red Cross (CRCA)
Together with the French Red Cross, the CRCA coordinates with state health authorities at national, regional and local level. The anchoring of the CRCA in the communities makes it possible to optimize relations with local authorities. This anchoring includes the network of volunteers, which also ensures the sustainability of the project's activities, even after the end of the project.
