The starting salary package for this position is £82,656 GBP per annum / approx. $104,938 USD including all allowances



About the role:

This role is a great opportunity to take a leading role in  life-saving work. As the senior technical representative in country, the Technical Operations Manager role is responsible for leading and safely managing all mine clearance and EOD operations, as well as leading teams of national and international staff.

Working closely with and reporting to the Country Director, you will provide high quality technical input into proposals and reports, liaise with donors, and government agencies. As a member of the programme’s Senior Management Team, you will need to demonstrate considerable experience of working strategically and ensuring the quality and efficiency of  clearance work.

About you:

In addition to a recognisable EOD qualification and extensive experience of planning and implementing clearance operations, you will have excellent people and project management skills with the ability to coordinate, design, manage and report on activities simultaneously. You will have the ability to contribute technical knowledge to proposals and reports, as well as the ability to plan and organise. You will also be experienced in managing and conducting formal or informal training.

You will have excellent representation and negotiation skills and the ability to build capacity of national teams, and to establish and maintain productive partnerships with donors and partners. Previous experience of working in a senior technical position within a similar organisation is essential. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position that will be suited to a highly motivated, solution-focused and flexible manager. A patient, tactful and diplomatic approach will be required in the challenging environments Organization works in.

Fluency in one or several of the local languages is not essential but would be considered beneficial in this role.

Leave: We recognise our staff work hard and need the appropriate time out to stay motivated. You'll have a minimum of six weeks out of the programme per year
Flights: Organization  provides three international flights home per year
Insurance: Programme based staff are automatically covered by organization's comprehensive insurance package including: Personal accident and medical expenses insurance; Death by natural causes insurance and access to 24-hour medical assistance.
