Roles & Responsibilities
The Senior Advisor will support maritime security strategy that may include fostering necessary force structure, manpower, and organizational planning. The Senior Advisor will assist the governmental entities in continually assessing current deficiencies and develop recommendations that supports the country’s national and defense strategies and current and future requirements.
Basic Qualifications
U.S. citizen
Master’s degree in areas such as strategic planning, public policy/administration, logistics, supply chain management, procurement, maritime affairs, or related fields, and at least six (6) years prior professional experience working in maritime strategic planning, acquisition, procurement, defense management, and related areas
OR
Bachelor’s degree in areas such as strategic planning, public policy/administration, logistics, supply chain management, procurement, maritime affairs, or related fields and at least ten (10) years of prior professional experience working in maritime strategic planning, acquisition, procurement, defense management, and related areas.
10+ years of commissioned experience in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, or other civilian equivalent in the field of planning, acquisition, or a related field.
1+ years of experience in a joint operating environment.
2+ years of prior experience in advising foreign governments or foreign militaries on strategic, operational, or maritime acquisition reforms. Non-resident or intermittent advisory experience may count toward some or all the required two years of prior experience, if the advising took place in-person with the foreign government representative(s).
3+ years of experience in establishing and institutionalizing policies, procedures, and practices related to naval acquisitions, planning, logistics, and/or maintenance.
Active Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience advising a foreign military or foreign government at the operational or strategic level
2+years of experience living and working in Southwest Pacific region
1+ year of experience in small boat operations
1+ year of experience conducting negotiations in a business or advisory setting or formal training in negotiations.
