The Safety Advisor Centre will be based in Port-Au-Prince with frequent travel in its coverage areas.
Summary of duties:
Under the responsibility and direct supervision of the Deputy Director (DD), the Safety Advisor will be in charge of developing analytical products according to organization standards standards, managing the personnel under his responsibility and monitoring the compliance of services.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in NGO security and safety management. He will be an open, curious, rigorous person, and experienced in building and managing high-performance teams. The candidate will also have the ability to analyze security issues and complex contexts, to communicate in French orally and in writing at an excellent level and, above all, to share organization's commitment to humanitarian principles.

Establish an active information network bringing together NGOs, the United Nations, government forces and other actors in the regions under its responsibility;
Ensure the delivery of organization services (scheduled services and on-demand services) by providing a rapid and credible contextual analysis of the local security situation, in accordance with internal standards and policies;
Facilitate roundtables on the security of the NGO community;
Participate in various coordination meetings and forums related to humanitarian assistance;
Assist NGOs in developing their own security management capacities by providing sound advice, reviewing policy documents, conducting site security assessments and assisting in crisis management;
Manage, support and strengthen the capacities of an operational team, including supervision of national staff;
At the request of the line manager, act as interim Deputy Director;
Effectively represent, promote and protect organization's mandate of independence, impartiality and neutrality.
Prerequisites:

Fluent French compulsory, good knowledge of English (oral and written);
Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field;
Experience of at least 2 years in an NGO position with responsibilities for risk management and humanitarian access;
Strong understanding of humanitarian action principles and practices, risk management, security and NGO access;
Excellent writing, analytical and attention to detail skills;
Ability to extract trends from data and integrate them into analytical reports;
Flexibility to work irregular hours according to the deadlines of organization services, emergencies.
