Position Summary:
The Global Security Manager supports MSI Headquarters and field-based staff in differing threat environments around the world. This position will report to the Deputy Director of Global Security and Operations. The position will require overseas travel and 24/7 emergency response. The preferred location for this role is in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

Position Summary:
The Global Security Manager supports MSI Headquarters and field-based staff in differing threat environments around the world. This position will report to the Deputy Director of Global Security and Operations. The position will require overseas travel and 24/7 emergency response. The preferred location for this role is in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Deputy Director of Global Security and Operations, ensuring the effective implementation of MSI’s safety and security platform across all projects and activities around the globe.
Support the proper training of Headquarters and project staff, accountability and compliance measures to determine quality and absorption of training, and report to supervisor and/or senior leadership on training gaps and possible improvement measures.
Monitor, assess, and analyze global security trends through open-source reporting and field security networks.
Provide oversight and support for all short-term travelers including pre-travel security briefings, review, and implementation of in country security protocols, and identification of required services such as accommodation and transportation providers.
Support security policy and guidance development and implementation.
Support the Deputy Director of Global Security and Operations in providing briefings to senior leadership on all security-related matters.
Support the MSI crisis management team and response to all incidents that impact staff and/or operations.
Support liaison with in-country U.S. government, United Nations, other diplomatic personnel, and NGO representatives regarding information sharing and crisis response activities.
Support post-incident analysis to determine mitigation strategies to reduce future incident frequency and impact.
Support the preparation of security plans and budgets for RFP submissions.
Assist in developing country and/or program security infrastructure and prepares plans for an acceptable implementation strategy.
Support regular review of MSI’s duty of care strategy and global compliance with Tetra Tech duty of care standards.
Assist field staff in developing, implementing, and maintaining project risk assessments, security plans, emergency response plans, and standard operating procedures
Conduct and document security surveys to determine compliance with polices and standards.
Coordinate with field leadership and security focal points on all security-related matters.
Participate in regular calls with field offices.
Accept other related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum three years of experience managing safety and security required, preferably in high risk countries.
Minimum five years of related/direct experience preferred.
Experience coordinating with OSAC and international development security colleagues.
Experience in project management or other fields is a plus.
Experience in overseas post-conflict and/or high-risk environments.
Knowledge of and experience working with development projects under USAID, State Department, or similar funded projects.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to use independent thinking and judgment.
Highly skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite of programs to include Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Ability to travel to high risk countries preferred.
Fluency in English is required. Fluency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is a plus.
