Title: Site Security Manager/Team Leader/Ops Rotator (Nasiriya, Thi Qar province, Iraq): 8 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotation (Please state your expected daily rate in your CV for this role)

The primary position of SSM/TL is a critical security role within the project site located in Nasiriya and has overall responsibility for security operations relating to the worksite and safe transportation of Clients to and from the worksites. He is to maintain a strong link with the designated client point of contact, Erinys Country Director, Erinys Operations along with HR & Administration Manager and any other stakeholders in order to deliver the security solutions.

The SSM/TL will be the primary focus in country for client liaison and contract compliance. The post requires prudent management of the LN security guard force and PSD team members on a daily basis and close relationship with the client. The secondary position will be for the Project Ops Manager Rotator.

Primary duties are as follows but not exclusive to:

a. Ensuring the smooth and effective operational running of the contracted site. Also ensuring PSD mission planning and briefings of client moves.
b. Maintain operational oversight and control of all checks and planning requirements pertaining to quality, auditing and PSD missions.
c. Maintain responsibility for the delivery of all monthly training requirements and the subsequent upkeep of training records for LN security guards and PSD team members. Liaise with Training Manager for guidance on policy and delivery requirements.
d. In conjunction with Company Logistics Department, ensure all equipment and weapons are clean, serviceable and accounted for.
e. Remain client focused and professional at all times.
f. Keep client and Country Management Team briefed on all security matters
g. Remain fully aware and conversant in all procedures inclusive of Client company procedures, contractual and company requirements and ensure dissemination to all LN Erinys employees.
h. Produce clear written reports when required.
i. Ensure professional liaison with client POC and Erinys CMT.
j. Documentation will be maintained in an orderly and legible fashion for quick and easy inspection.
k. Carry out complete and comprehensive handover of Erinys equipment during in/out leave rotations (HOTO).
l. Instigate any formal disciplinary proceedings in line with SOPs and submit to line manager for further action.
m. Ensure all weapons and ammunition are accounted for on a daily basis by quantity and 100% serial numbered on a weekly basis.
n. Be fully conversant with the Erinys data management tool and ensure that reports are uploaded if and when required.
o. Remain aware of business development opportunities and inform the company.
p. To carry out ad-hoc duties when required.
q. To carry out any other tasks in line with key business objectives as stipulated by line managers.

Required skills

a. Management skills –leadership, analytical, decisive but consultative; capable of innovative thinking and managing change.
b. Commercial skills – commercially astute with sufficient understanding of contractual law; capable of contributing to production of business plans, technical and commercial bids, contract analysis and budget management
c. Communication skills – good oral and written English communication skills; capable of producing reports and presentations of a high standard.
d. Relationship building and presentation skills: Since the project site is a commercial camp, building and maintaining good relationships with stakeholders is vital to the successful management of this project. Security briefs will be required to be provided to clients on a regular basis.
d. Strong intra-personal skills – capable of galvanising a team and negotiating effectively
e. Strong administrative, operations and organisational skills


Experience, knowledge and minimum requirements:
a. Age between 36 and 50.
b. At least 5 to 7 years Military or Police experience.
c. At least 2 years’ experience as Team Leader within Iraq and 3 years as SSM role.
d. Ops Management experience desirable.
d. Experience managing a team, coaching and mentoring members, providing continual informal and formal feedback to ensure performance meets the required standard.
e. Candidate must be UK or South African Passport or citizenship holders.
f. Industry accredited Close Protection qualification to level 3 or equivalent.
g. In date SIA or PSIRA Close Protection License
h. In date FPOS I Level 3 or equivalent (FREC Level 3 or EMR and BLS) as a minimum.
i. Ability to produce timely and accurate reports.
j. Experience and understanding of the private security and risk management industry.
k. Fluent English - Must be a native speaker of English.
l. An understanding of cultural diversities and how they may affect operations
m. Clean criminal record.
n. Excellent computer and MS Office suite skills
o. Must be able to prepare security plans and incident reports in a concise and professional manner.
