Job Title: Regional Security Manager
Direct supervisor: General Manager - Site
Objectives:
The Regional Security Manager will report to the General Manager - Site as well by functioning as the primary Security and Safety Advisor related to all aspects of risk, security, and safety to Senior Management. Other factors the incubent will have to copy with are the environmental factors that affect outdoor working including high temperatures, sun, and the naturally dusty environment.
Main Tasks And Responsibilities:
Oversee the development of risk management strategies and drive planning using situational awareness, critical thinking, and logic to detect and interpret indicators and warnings, emerging trends and analysis of multi-dimensional threats that may impact project security.
Ensure the preparation, review and implementation of security planning, security risk management documents and risk-based security solutions using innovation and creativity.
Provide written analysis of security trends and reporting of incidents.
Participate in meetings and prepare reports on security issues, deliver briefings, provides responses, as required.
Provide analysis of the evolving security environment and support the development of the project’s security and operational responses.
Use analytical techniques and collaborative research, support planning and ensure awareness of the current trends to enhance or adjust the security posture.
Oversee security-related tasks, prioritising work to meet deadlines and following defined processes, policies, procedures and guidance.
Develop a clearly defined workplan to guide local security personnel and act as a coach and mentor to promote capacity building.
Enhance communication and trust through active collaboration and consultation with the local community and other key stakeholders, for information sharing, coordination of responses, provision of security briefings, taking into account project activities and risks.
Oversee the conduct of risk assessments and security surveys, creatively leveraging tools and processes, identifying and recommending simple, reasonable, effective and efficient security measures, including when there is incomplete, contradictory and/or fluid information.
Manage the implementation and maintenance of a functioning Security Communication System.

Qualifications And Experience:
A police or military background and have reached senior rank as a Non-Commissioned Officer or Captain or higher as a Commissioned Officer.
Experience in leading Health and Safety at a senior level is seen as highly advantaged
A proven background in mining and other extractive industries delivering risk, security and safety solutions. This should include experience working in complex or challenging environments.
Formal Security and Risk Management Qualifications (desirable) however, professional experience will be recognized.
Key Competences:
Demonstrated ability to write and implement strategy and plans, policies, and procedures.
Capability in making quick decisions in emergencies or when a rapid response is required.
Proven ability in communicating complex concepts effectively both verbally and in writing A proven track record in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results.
Ability to priority, management, and implement multiple tasks in a timely manner, even in fast-changing contexts
Experience in taking ownership and supporting strategies to ensure compliance with all security risk management decisions and regulations.
Show persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges
French and English speaker is highly desirable.
