Military Trainer/Mentor
PAE supports the Office of Regional Peace and Security in the Department of State’s Bureau of African Affairs (AF/RPS) in advancing U.S. foreign policy goals in sub-Saharan Africa by developing and implementing peace and security policies and programs to create a more secure, stable, and prosperous Africa.
Summary/Definition:
The Military Trainer/Mentor must have working experience with African Militaries or especially with West Africa Militaries. The individual will report directly to the Lead Trainer and will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing training, both theory and practical lessons for the program. The trainer/mentor will also communicate and coordinate as directed by the Lead Trainer with host country military personnel with regards to the coordination and execution of training. He/she will appraise the performance of trainees and submit reports to the Lead Trainer as determined by the Lead Trainer.
Educational and Experience:
The candidate must have an equivalent military professional qualifications and experience.
The candidate must be a military retired.
The candidate must have prior experience of working in Africa.
Candidate must have prior experience in training militaries.
Candidate must have excellent organizational, and training skills.
Candidate must be capable of interacting confidently with senior management and customers.
Job functions:
Set an outstanding personal example of professional, social and personal behavior and appearance for the trainees, colleagues and the host nation.
Achieve the curricular requirements and learning standards of the Program of Instruction.
Attain and improve proficiency in all military and other subjects taught.
Adhere to weekly training schedule which includes daily class topics, all military events, military team practice and the uniform of the day.
Shall conduct training in acccordance to the Program (of Instruction) and other activities as prescribed by the Lead Trainer
Conduct risk assessment to avoid the possibility of an accident for all activities.
