Position Overview
Reporting to the International Security Regional Leader for the Middle East, Türkiye, Africa, and Central Asia (METACA), this Regional Security Advisor position will be based in Doha (Qatar), will be part of a diverse and multicultural regional security team, and will provide security support to Boeing’s operations within the region as a whole, delivering and overseeing a wide range of routine and emergency security policies, procedures, and guidance, whilst ensuring compliance with applicable United States, Host Nation, and Enterprise security and fire requirements. In particular, the position holder will support The Boeing Company’s various defense programs in the Middle East Region, focused on (but not limited to) those in Qatar and Kuwait. This is an Individual Contributor Level 4 role.
This position requires an active United States (US) Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required.
Position Responsibilities:
This position is suited to an experienced, confident, and self-motivated security professional with a proven ability to interact and communicate effectively, both internally with security colleagues, business units and other functions and stakeholders, and externally with representatives of US and foreign government authorities, contracted security organizations, industry peers, and through active participation and networking with organizations such as OSAC, ASIS, ACSG, etc. Cultural understanding and empathy with the Middle East region and its diverse local and expatriate population, as well as detailed and current knowledge of the geopolitics of the region, are essential attributes for the holder of this position. The successful candidate will perform the following duties:Promoting and improving the protection of Boeing people, property, and information in a timely and efficient manner
Establishing and maintaining an effective and close working relationship with the respective Business Units and supporting functions operating in-region, and aligning and prioritizing day-to-day tasks in direct support of these business’ security requirements
Identifying and mitigating existing and emerging security risks and hazards in a region and operating environment that is inherently volatile, unpredictable, complex, and ambiguous
Collaboration with Boeing Defense and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Programs to ensure compliance with US Government National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and company requirements and standards for the control of US and Host Nation classified material
Providing local assistance to the designated Boeing Government Security Facility Security Officer (FSO) in establishing and implementing a security awareness training and education program to educate, refresh, and motivate personnel to adhere to requisite security policies and practices
As a matter of routine, the Security Adviser will be a focal for regional-level guidance and support to a wide range of security and related issues, including, but not limited to:Employee personal safety
Investigations
Export compliance
Journey management and travel security advice and support
Event security
Business continuity plans and processes
Security awareness and education
Partnering with stakeholders to select new sites and to facilitate the decommissioning of redundant sites
Coordination with Boeing Executive Protection and Executive Flight Operations personnel to support close protection requirements for executives and VIPs, on an as needs basis
Other duties as directed by the Regional Security Leader
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
This position requires an active US Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required
Previous working experience in the Middle East region is essential
The candidate will have held a responsible security position for 3 or more years within the US Diplomatic Security Service, as a DoD Contractor, in the US Military, in Law Enforcement, or in other relevant US Government Agencies
A comprehensive knowledge of the political, security, and cultural issues associated with operating in often challenging or volatile risk environments or situations
The ability to develop a network of industry contacts, and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships to achieve business development goals
The ability to present to, and communicate with, senior management and other stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Previous working experience in the Middle East region is essential
The candidate will have held a responsible security position for 3 or more years within the US Diplomatic Security Service, as a DoD Contractor, in the US Military, in Law Enforcement, or in other relevant US Government Agencies
A comprehensive knowledge of the political, security, and cultural issues associated with operating in often challenging or volatile risk environments or situations
The ability to develop a network of industry contacts, and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships to achieve business development goals
The ability to present to, and communicate with, senior management and other stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Recent experience of providing specialist security support to Government or Defence programmes
Previous experience as an FSO or other assigned responsibility to control, safeguard US Classified material
Knowledge of conducting international office/site surveys and assessment and the ability to document the findings in a clear and concise reporting format
Information protection skills and a working knowledge of data protection practices in the international communityArabic language skills are desirable but not essential
Must be prepared to travel routinely within the METACA region in support of Boeing operations
Typical Education/Experience
A Bachelor’s degree and typically 10 or more year’s related work experience, a Master’s degree and 8 or more year’s related work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
