Close Protection Officer
Profile
Prerequisite :
- Thorough knowledge of the deployment country's security environment (recent mission required);
- Experience in a similar CPO position for a minimum of 3 years in a country with a volatile environment, preferably with Diplomatic missions or Representations of International Organisations ;
- Military or police experience of 5 years, and ideally minimum OR4 NATO rank or police equivalent ;
- EU accredited Close Protection qualification ;
- Firearms certificate (handguns & rifles) ;- Excellent knowledge of first aid and trauma care ;
- Proven knowledge of radio equipment and radio operational procedures;
- EU valid and updated driving licence categories C, C1 and a B6 certificate (civilian range armoured vehicles) ;
- Fully IT-literate;
- A high level of personal physical fitness and mental health (medical certificate required) ;
- French speaking language level according to, at least, level B2/C1 as defined in the standards available at http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/resources/europeanlanguage-levels-cefr;
- English speaking language level according to, at least, level B2/C1 as defined in the standards available at http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/resources/europeanlanguage-levels-cefr;

CPO’s Tasks
Operates as a member of the Close Protection Team providing security and safety for the Head of Diplomatic Delegation and Delegation staff and visitors;
Reports to the Close Protection Supervisor (CPS) for operational matters and contract and administrative issues ;
Ensures timely and accurate reporting of security incidents ;
Implements and rehearses all Standard Operating Procedures and Contingency Plans in accordance with the provisions of the contract and local legal requirements ;
Ensures that all Close Protection Team security equipment is complete, is up to date and well maintained.
