Role Responsibility:
Lead and direct the guard force in accordance with the site Security Plan and assist
in the assessment or risk and development of the plan.
▪ Conduct training as specified by the Company training directive to ensure that guards
comprehend their role, their responsibilities as security officers and are competent in
the use of equipment assigned to them.▪ Have a full working knowledge of Company’s non-technical and technical security
systems, which include, but is not limited to: Lenel and Gatekeeper Software, FIDO,
UVSS, Rapiscan and walk through metal detector systems.
▪ Comply with Company Standing Operating Procedures and the policies and
procedures laid down in the Quality Management System to the extent that Company
operations are consistent with the demands of Standard PSC.1-2012.
▪ Ensure that all members of the guard are fully appraised of the prevailing threat and
that they are prepared for incidents arising in compliance with Standard Operating
Procedures.
▪ Ensure that all members of the guard respect International Humanitarian Law and
International Human Rights Law in all aspects of their work.
▪ Liaise between Company, the guard and client personnel, the Site Security Manager
assumes the role of first point of contact for any issues arising within the guard force.
▪ Maintain standards of performance of the guard force across the wide range of
disciplines inherent within the guards’ primary function.
▪ Maintain minimum standards in all guard posts including access control and
patrolling, communications procedures, firearm handling, compliance with Standard
Operating Procedures and comprehension of Company’s obligations towards Human
Rights Policy A-5)
▪ Manage all Company equipment issued to the guard force, ensuring that allocated
equipment is recorded, properly maintained, and used effectively and efficiently.
▪ Maintain accurate records for all training conducted and ensuring that guards sign
individually for training received.
▪ Brief clients about issues concerning their security.
▪ Conduct basic risk assessments of specified locations as directed by the Company
Project Manager or Operations Manager in accordance with Company guidelines on
risk assessment (B-4).
Conduct performance appraisals of all the guard members as required by Company
under its performance appraisal program (C-14). Identify work place hazards or
potential or actual non-conformities with Company procedures and communicate this
immediately to the Company Project Manager.
▪ Able to work in isolation under stressful conditions with or near local national
personnel.
▪ Be able to command respect and engender support from all levels, including other
Company personnel, clients and local community members.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
SIA licence holder
Recognised CP course
Qualified in either First Person on Scene L3 (FPOS-I) or First Response Emergency Care
(FREC3)
Minimum of 5 years military experience
Experience working in a hostile environment
Experience in the training of multi-national personnel/environment.
Very good in verbal and excellent in written English communication skills.
Good client liaison skills.
Proven supervisory skills, ability to work unsupervised and under pressure in a fast paced,
high risk environment.
Proven safe weapon handling skills.
Ability to administer First Aid and CPR.
Physically fit and proactive approach to work.
Committed to the commercial goals of G4S.
Comfortable working in a culturally diverse team.
Diligent, resilient and commercially aware and focused.
