Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSS Coordinator based in Warsaw. The HSS Coordinator serves as a technical resource on Health, Safety and Security risks and crisis management within the Operational Area of Central and Eastern Europe, and will be available to support the NRC Ukraine HSS team (80%) and NRC Poland Country Office (20%). This role acts as the technical advisor for Country level HSS staff and is a member of the Poland Country Management Team (CMT).

Duties & Responsibilities;

Ukraine Country Office and Regional Office
Provide pre departure briefings for staff traveling to Ukraine
Provide information, analysis and liase with NRC Ukraine HSS Coordinators.
Organize and implement training at the sub-regional level (in collaboration with other NRC countries in the region).
Ensure the HSS team contributes and maintains the required documentation of security incidents in NRC Protect and updates for a comprehensive view of events & trends.
Ensure analysis trends and forecasting are brought into both security and programme planning.
When covering HSS Coordinator at UK Area Office level, assume all responsibilities of the area-specific HSS Coordinator Job Description

Poland Country Office
Provide Security briefings for NRC Poland Staff
Provide information, analysis and recommendations to NRC Poland Country Director
Provide fire safey equipment, advisory and support to NRC staff
Develop specific SOPs as needed.
Ensure analysis trends and forecasting are brought into both security and programme planning.
Support the Country Director in implementing the risk management approach defined by HSS, including reviews and updates of Security Risk Assessments (SRAs).
Ensure reporting of critical security incidents to the Country Director
Provide technical support to NRC-Poland Crisis Management team (CMT)

Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a humanitarian organization and 3 to 5 years of experience in security
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts, would be an advantage
Fluency in English.
Polish Language skills, in addition Ukrainian or Russian language would be an advantage
Previous experience in humanitarian negotiations is considered a strong asset.

What We Offer
Duty Station: Warsaw (Poland)
Contract: 12 months, extension dependent on funding, 40% travel across region.
NRC’s Salary Scale: NRC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
