Job Description
The SENISA Security Supervisor performs a key role. The role oversees security of all the SENISA exploration operations and is responsible of the security of the exploration camp. The SENISA security supervisor directly manages two guard officers (six in total including rotations) and two Special Response Team (SRT) officers (six in total including rotations). The SENISA security supervisor is also responsible of managing the key relation with the Gendarmerie detachment assigned to SENISA protection.
Job Responsibilities
Includes but not limited to:
• Manage exploration camp security, focusing on personnel and equipment.
• Establish and manage the remote exploration operations security. These operations, with a maximum of three distinct teams, may be deployed on two locations simultaneously.
• Establish security patrols and joint operations with the Gendarmerie.
• Liaise on a daily basis with the Gendarmerie chief of detachment to ensure that exploration operations are being secured accordingly. Monitor the implementation of the Memo of Understanding (MOU) on a security standpoint.
• Inspect the exploration operations on a daily basis.
• Manage a team of two SRT officers (6 including rotations) in charge of securing remote exploration operations. This includes contract management, training and testing (LSPT program).
• Manage a team of two Guard officers (6 including rotations) in charge of securing the exploration camp. This includes contract management, training and testing (LSPT program).
• Monitor the ASM/ISM situation closely with the Gendarmerie detachment and report to Tasiast security and SENISA GM.
• Report on a daily basis to Tasiast Security (SOC) and ask for support if needed.
• Manage a dedicated fuel security program for SENISA.
• Manage physical security measures ) CCTV, access control, etc.( for the exploration camp.
• In a timely manner, report all incidents to TMLSA Security Manager.
Education ,Experience and Skills
Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements
• A minimum of 7 years work experience with at least 3 years personally serving at increasing levels of prominence and influence within a contracted guard force; ideally having worked up through the chain-of-command to at least a supervisor position. Or, having previously served in a force securing extractable minerals operations; and at least two years of service as a senior NCO or Officer in the military / Gendarmerie or Police.
• Strong capacity to operate in full autonomy. Proven resilience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with a wide variety of site HODs, Business Partners (BP) and government representatives (especially Gendarmerie), in a highly professional manner, displaying tact and diplomacy when needed.
• Experience in private security contract management.
• Ability to communicate effectively in French and English language, both verbally and in written form.
• Skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook and Excel) to record and produce information.
• Be open minded, pro-active, team orientated and have a high sense of the need for confidentiality.
• Valid driver’s license.
