The HSS (Health, Safety & Security) Section is responsible for developing, evaluating and monitoring NRC’s global approach to HSS and crisis management. With a central team located at Head Office, the Section provides the policies, systems, frameworks and standards for use globally, and works through and with senior managers and security staff in the regions and country operations.

What you will do
Reporting to the Global HSS Director, the Global Roving HSS Manager will provide health, safety and security support, advice, and trainings to country, regional, and the Head Offices (HO); provide support to an Emergency Response Team or deploys to implement an initiative or task on behalf the HO HSS Section.
Some of your day-to-day tasks will include;Lead and monitor the implementation and compliance of NRC HSS risk management framework and reduce risks towards NRC staff, programs, organization, beneficiaries, and assets.
On occasion, may be required to act as a Regional or Global Security Advisor during leave periods or vacancies.
Ensure that solutions respect both the rules and principles of the HSS risk management system of NRC, as well as the humanitarian standards of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence that are guiding the interventions of NRC for accessing beneficiaries.
Provides HSS trainings, including HEAT course and crisis management trainings if there is a gap in the normal training team.
Provides mentoring or support to help build the capacity of HSS staff in the field.

Minimum 5 years of experience working as a manager in a humanitarian/recovery context in the field of health, safety and/or security.
Formal HSS, risk management or equivalent education preferred.
Proven, solid and relevant experience in HSS work, preferably in the NGO (non-governmental organisations) or UN (United Nations) environment.
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts (posted in a high-risk environment).
Proven experience in administration and team management.
Ability to handle a large workload and work under pressure.
Proven training skills to humanitarian organisations on security risk assessment, operational security, and/or crisis management.
Information analysis experience is an asset.
Result and service-oriented with excellent communication skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
