Senior Soldier Skills Trainer
Peace Support Operations (PSO) Senior Soldier Skills Trainers shall:

Provide Peacekeeping Operations (PKO) soldier skills instruction to African military units receiving ACOTA Program training.

Instruct and supervise PKO soldier skills training for African company grade officers and their soldiers in the following subject areas:

BRM,
CQM,
Movement formations and techniques,
Infantry squad and platoon battle drills,
Convoy operations,
CQM/CQB,
C-IED,
Recon,
Checkpoint operations,
Crowd control,
Cordon and search.

Trainers will also instruct African soldiers on:Human rights (to include gender respect, elimination of sexual exploitation and child protection),
Individual health maintenance,
Individual first aid,
HIV/AIDS prevention
Orientation in United Nations peacekeeping operations.

Trainers will also develop POIs, lesson plans, and training support packages for individual and collective training

Trainers are expected to know or review the US Army doctrine applicable to the task for which they are responsible to instruct.

Education and experience:

PSO Skills Trainers shall have the following education, experience, and military background unless otherwise approved in advance by the Contracting Officer Representative: Skills, experience, and knowledge to accomplish the goals and tasks of the GPOI Program.
Minimum of five (5) years of U.S. military operations and training experience in a Combat Arms Specialty with a strong background in OCONUS program operations focused on training local national military personnel and units preferred.
Subject matter experts in at least one Combat Arms U.S. Military Occupational Specialty, Branch, or Functional Area.
Experience with either U.S. State Department, United Nations (UN) Chapter Seven Operations, or Africa Union (AU) highly desired.
Experience with Africa peace support operations is highly desired and should include current experience with the GPOI Program.
Former Special Forces A Team or Combat Arms Non-Commissioned Officer or Warrant Officer preferred.
Familiar with standard military training concepts, practices, and procedures.
Preferably an individual with recent U.S. Military combat and/or PKO experience at E-5 thru 0-3 level.
Experience operating in areas with limited life cycle support and in hardship conditions preferred.
Recent OIF/OEF experience desired
Fluent French language skills required
